Alright, it was old and a bit cruddy. And smelly. And grotty. But it was our old, cruddy, smelly, grotty hospital! In our town for locals to use.
In an amazing swindle that exposes officials both locally and at the highest government level, the authorities took all the cash raised locally to rebuild our hospital, then with all the appearance of abiding honourably proceeded to schedule it for closure, close it, remove the equipment, demolish it and................ nothing!
WHERE IS OUR HOSPITAL? WHERE ARE OUR DONATIONS? WHERE IS THE EQUIPMENT BOUGHT BY LOCAL FUND RAISERS?
On the plus side, the site is becoming a haven for wild life, so that’s something I suppose, although for those recovering from treatment in hospitals miles from home, it might seem less impressive.
However, developers are looking at this land with £ signs in their eyes.
How long will it be before all our officials cave in and sell it for housing?
The hospital has been gone so long now, that crumblies have moved into the area, gone senile and died without ever seeing a hospital in Littlehampton.
